Winter Break at Cornell 2021-2022

Quiet in Collegetown

The semester came to an abrupt end with classes being canceled and finals being moved to online.  The semester was going so well for students as everything appeared to be working.  No one saw a new Covid variant coming and changing things so drastically. At the same time this the semester was coming to an end as the students start their winter break.  The students and many of our tenants in our Cornell off-campus housing apartments have left for the break.  Driving around Collegetown right now, everything is very quiet and seemingly empty.  Many students have traveled to spend the holidays with their families and friends.

Students that stay

Here at PJ Apartments, we have a good amount of tenants who stay at their student apartment rentals in Ithaca over the break.  It is definitely a minority but it is nice they have an option for them to stay put in their warm and comfortable apartments.  These students may live overseas, in other parts of the country, or just feel more comfortable staying put.  All of our staff are still working through the winter break.  This includes our office staff and maintenance staff.  What that means is that we can still provide all of the regular services we proved to our tenants.

Still Looking for housing
